No. Our matching service is free for individuals. We are paid by the law firms in our network — they pay us a monthly subscription plus a small fee when an introduction becomes a paying client. By SRA rules they cannot pass that fee on to you as an extra charge.
No. We are an ICO-registered matching platform — not a law firm. We are not regulated by the SRA. The individual firms we match you with are SRA-regulated, and the lawyer–client relationship is between you and the firm you choose to instruct.
No. We match you to a single firm — not five. The matched firm has 24 hours to contact you and 4 hours to accept or decline the match internally. If they decline, we offer the match to the next-best firm in our network.

Currently family law (divorce, financial settlement, child arrangements, prenups) and employment law (unfair dismissal, settlement agreements, discrimination, tribunal claims). We do not handle personal injury, criminal defence, or immigration. We may add other areas as we grow.
All data is stored on UK-based servers, encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3. We are ICO-registered, UK GDPR compliant, Cyber Essentials certified, and never train AI models on your data. We share your details only with the single matched firm.
Yes, at any time. Email hello@firstlegal.ai or reply to any of our emails with "delete my data" and we will remove your records within 30 days. If you have already been matched to a firm, the firm holds its own copy under its own engagement; you would need to request deletion from them separately.
Tell us. We will offer you another match at no cost. If you have a complaint about the firm itself, complain to the firm first; if it is not resolved within 8 weeks, you can refer it to the Legal Ombudsman. We also remove firms from our network for sustained complaint patterns.
